I know I've passed this video around to some, but I can't help it. I've been watching it at least every other day for the past month. It's the Tower of Power at the 2006 Montreaux Jazz Festival playing their signature tune "What Is Hip," featuring Carlos Santana on guitar. Now, Carlos isn't a funk guitarist. You'll notice he goes 8 bars trying to play in the style of the tune; it was a'ight. But then, he gives us 16 bars of pure Carlos.
Damn, this still gives me goosebumps!

Are you a lover or a fighter?
I'm a lover until someone pisses me off.
What's your worst fear?
The clowns coming out of the mirror.

Any secret talents?

It takes no licks for Chuck Norris!
Can you sing the alphabet backwards?
No.
Do you prefer electric or manual pencil sharpener?
Electric.
What's your stand on hunting?
Just don't waste anything, and for pete's sake you don't need to go around with RPGs. I respect anyone who'll go out with a bow and arrow.
Do you like your handwriting?
I'm told it looks like Thomas Jefferson's at its neatest.
What are you allergic to?
Undue effort based on a cost/benefit analysis.
When was the last time you said, I love you?
Sometime this morning.
Do you cry at weddings?

Probably my most important one...
UPDATE: Wanna see something funny? I've been searching the internet for legit, thought out arguments in support of the cuts, and I came across this: A message board user on Storm Front's website who actually disagrees with PBS funding cuts! Now, I have no idea about this person's views on racial issues, but in any case, it was one of the last things I'd expect to come out of there.
Hi,I read about this on Mushtaq Ali's blog over a week ago, but had no idea it was this close.
You know that email petition that keeps circulating about how Congress is slashing funding for NPR and PBS? Well, now it's actually true. (Really. Check at the bottom if you don't believe me.)
Sign the petition telling Congress to save NPR and PBS:
http://www.moveon.org/publicbroadcasting/
The House of Representatives is about to vote on whether to slash funding for NPR and PBS, starting with "Sesame Street," "Reading Rainbow" and other commercial-free children's shows. If approved, this would be the most severe cut in the history of public broadcasting, threatening to pull the plug on Big Bird, Cookie Monster and Oscar the Grouch.
The cuts would eliminate more than $200 million for NPR, PBS and local stations immediately, with more cuts likely in the future. The loss could kill beloved children's shows like "Clifford the Big Red Dog," "Arthur," and "Postcards from Buster." Rural stations and those serving low-income communities might not survive. Other stations would have to increase corporate sponsorships.
The House will vote on the cuts as soon as Tuesday. Can you help us reach 1 million signatures calling on Congress to save NPR and PBS?
http://www.moveon.org/publicbroadcasting/
Thanks!
P.S. Read the New York Times story on the threat to NPR and PBS at:
http://www.moveon.org/r?r=753

Relive horrifying first-hand accounts of surgeries gone awry when surgical tools like scissors and gauze are left inside a patient. Chronic pain and wounds that won't heal cause weeks and even months of suffering before the error is identified and correct [sic].

Why copy, paste and spam when you've got a blog, right? From DATU_B...
Friends OathAnd who says friendship is dead?
1. When you are sad ... I will get you drunk and help you plot revenge against the sorry bastard who made you sad.
2. When you are blue .. I'll try to dislodge whatever is choking you.
3. When you smile .. I'll know you finally had sex.
4. When you are scared ... I will rag you about it every chance I get.
5. When you are worried ... I will tell you horrible stories about how much worse it could be and to quit whining.
6. When you are confused ... I will use little words to explain things to you.
7. When you are sick .. stay away from me until you're well again.
8. When you fall ... I will point and laugh at your clumsy ass.
Remember: A friend will help you move.
A really good friend will help you move a body.

BTW, a "bandwidth conservation post" is a posting that takes the place of me spamming everyone in my address book.

Here's a new feature I just invented as I sort of lamented that I took part in the sin of forwarding email. No, it wasn't a virus warning, a chain letter, a "read along and scroll to the bottom like the puppet you are" note, or a heart-wrenching piece of urban myth. It was a bunch of funny bits that I've collected over the years across several email accounts that I thought Ms. E would find funny.
"I don't want to sin again," I said to myself. "Yet, how would I disseminate these fine staples of wit and wisdom rivaled only by the scriptures of various religions?"
Then, it hit me. So, without any further ado, the first in a long line of "Bandwidth Conservation Posts."
What Sort of Asian Are You?

3. You're not afraid of black people; in fact, you wish you were
black.
